I am currently a senior at King/Drew Magnet High School of Medicine & Science. Aside from the usual characteristics that most King/Drew students seem to have, I am assiduous because I want the "better life." My peers constantly ask why I work so hard, and my reply is because I need to get out of "the hood." Living in Compton has its benefits, but unfortunately not in terms of academic success and rigor. I work hard because I have a goal to do some good in the world, but my family, community, and country come first. I am very involved in school. I play on the Boy's Volleyball team, am part of Class Council, M.E.S.A., Relay for Life, and am a Senior Mentor and a Senior Ambassador. I am a proud son of Herby Sr. and Elsie Tuala. I have 10 siblings: 2 brothers and 8 sisters. I am also a proud Samoan and one of the four who attend King/Drew.
